The Glorious Twelfth

I thought I would post up Ms Fitz photos of the Unionists in the north celebrating the 12th of July, what is great about these pics is there is not a sight of a flying bottle or stone or a Peeler dressed in riot gear. For once the participants are entitled to call their celebrations The Glorious Twelfth.

Ah did you purposely crop out the tri-colour from the top of that bonfire?

Aye glorious triumphalist 12th remembering a religious war.

No need to paint it with roses.

You make a fair point and although I did not crop out the national flag I admit I could have posted pictures of bonfires with offensive wordings etc on them, but I believe had I done so it would have provoked yet more whataboutary and negated my point.

Of course one swallow does not make a summer and Loyalism/Orange Order still has a long way to go and I doubt the later will ever change enough for decent people to give it house room.[sorry chaps]

I just thought now and again it does no harm to post up a good news event and if we look at past 12th of July’s this years parades were just that.

    All the best
